A Prayer for Animals
By Albert Schweitzer
Bar

Hear our humble prayer, O God,

for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for any that are hunted or lost
or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to sleep.
We entreat for them all
Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us be true friends to animals
and so to share
the blessings of the merciful.

"My name is Maukie.

Rub my tummy and hear me  purrrrrrrr ...

Rub my third eye and hear me meuuuuuuu..."

I enjoy your teasing my paw!"

"SO LONG, Blarney, MY FRIEND"

Farewell from Sandra Rae Hymel

Blarney, my friend, I so miss you

Though your Light still shines in my heart

When I think of you I smile

I see your deep, dark, watery, eyes

And your waggley tail and cold, wet, nose

Your squiggly body dancing a welcome

Your love still warms me all over

I knew you would be there at the door to greet me

I was always ready for your slobbery kisses

Your floppy ears were soft and cuddly

You knew when I needed your empathy

And when I was ready to play

I feel honored to have had the privilege

Of caring for you, tending to your needs

Day in and day out

I regret the times I may have shunned you

Or complained that you interrupted my day

I could always count on your loyalty

You knew my thoughts before I knew them

You knew my feelings before I felt them

You knew my commands before I spoke them

I always could count on you to sparkle my day

You gave your best asking little in return

Though you have gone from my sight

You are incarnated in every cell of my being

You are part of who I am

You live in my heart always

"I love you and miss you,

So long, Blarney my friend"
